If you ask me, the best cocktails are the ones you can bring out any time of year and they still feel perfectly in place. This white cranberry martini does exactly that. It’s crisp and refreshing enough for warm evenings, bright and citrusy for spring gatherings, and just festive enough to sparkle during the holidays. The flavors are clean, balanced, and smooth, which means it never feels too heavy or overly sweet. One shake of the cocktail shaker and suddenly you’ve got a drink that feels equal parts elegant, refreshing, and completely effortless.

Equipment

  • Large pitcher or cocktail mixing container
  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring cups and tablespoons
  • Long spoon for stirring
  • Martini glasses or coupe glasses
  • Citrus peeler or knife for garnish

Ingredients

White Cranberry Martini Batch

  • 2 cups vodka use a smooth mid to top shelf vodka
  • 1 cup Cointreau orange liqueur
  • 2 1/2 cups white cranberry juice chilled
  • 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice freshly squeezed for best flavor
  • 1/3 cup simple syrup adjust slightly to taste if your cranberry juice is very tart
  • 1/8 tsp salt a tiny pinch sharpens all the flavors

Optional Garnishes

  • 5-10 fresh/frozen cranberries
  • 1 sprig rosemary per glass for a winter look optional
  • sugar for optional rim

Instructions

  • Mix the Martini Base: In a large pitcher combine the vodka, Cointreau, white cranberry juice, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and salt. Stir slowly but thoroughly until everything is fully combined and silky smooth. Give it a quick taste and adjust with an extra splash of cranberry juice if you want the fruit to shine even more.
  • Chill the Batch: Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes so the mixture gets beautifully cold. A properly chilled cocktail makes all the difference between “nice” and “wow that’s good.”
  • Shake Like a Pro: When ready to serve, pour about 3/4 cup of the mixture into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake confidently for about 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is icy cold. This step adds just enough dilution to make the martini smooth instead of sharp.
  • Strain and Serve: Strain the martini into a chilled martini glass or coupe glass. The drink should look crystal clear with a soft pale glow from the cranberry.
  • Garnish with Style: Express a lemon or orange peel over the top of the glass to release the oils, then drop it in or rest it on the rim. For extra winter flair, tuck in a rosemary sprig that looks like a tiny evergreen tree.
  • Raise Your Glass: Take a sip and enjoy a cocktail that’s crisp, festive, and balanced enough to make everyone ask who made the drinks tonight.

Notes

If your cocktail tastes a little too strong, add an extra 1/2 cup white cranberry juice to the pitcher and stir. This softens the alcohol while keeping the flavor bright.
If you want the drink even smoother, add about 3/4 cup cold water to the pitcher to mimic the dilution that normally happens when cocktails are shaken one at a time.
Use chilled white cranberry juice whenever possible. Starting cold keeps the martini crisp and prevents the ice from melting too quickly when shaking.
For a beautiful winter presentation, lightly dip the rim of the glass in lemon juice and then in sugar to create a frosted edge that looks like a dusting of snow.
